DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MULTI OS INSTALLATION


Windows xp:
It supports only NTFS file system.
Supports both character and graphical user interface.
Have to install drivers.
File system:
Controls how data is stored and retrieved.
Operating system uses to keep track of files on a disk or partition.
Types of file systems:
NTFS:
NT file system.
New Technology file system.
How to see drive is in NTFS format.
In start button type disk management we can see which type of file system it is.
FAT32:
File Allocation Table.
32 means which data is stored in chunks of 32 bits.
This is an older type of file system and it is not using these days.
Windows 10:
New generation design.
Supports both character and graphical user interface.
Supports both NTFS and FAT32 file systems.
Can connect directly to the internet.
Red hat linux:
Red hat linux supports both NTFS/FAT 32 files systems.
Supports both graphical and character user interface.
Ms dos:
Supports only FAT32 file system.
Partition should be primary.
We can convert partition by using ease use tool.
Supports character user interface.
Cant connect to internet directly.
Should connect with dos shell command prompt and type a command and run.
